We stayed at The Northam All Suite in Georgetown on our first night in Penang. It was the nearest hotel to my cousin’s wedding dinner venue (only 3 buildings away) so that was why we chose it. The hotel occupancy rate was not very high, so we received a complimentary upgrade from a studio suite to a junior suite when we checked in.
The best thing about the suite was the amount of space that came with it. We paid S$104.83 (rate inclusive of taxes) for the suite through Agoda and I felt that it was really a value-for-money deal considering how big the room was.
Even the jacuzzi bath was very spacious. Unfortunately, the hotel was a little tired … our toilet blinds didn’t work very well, two of our toilet bulbs couldn’t be switched off at night, TVs provided in the room were CRT type and not the usual LCDs that we are accustomed to in better hotels.
As it’s a rather smallish hotel, we didn’t expect too many facilities. There was a small pool at the 9th floor that is not very child friendly (1.3m throughout the whole pool) but we tried it anyway. There was also a gym and a spa at the 9th floor (prices looked cheap) which we didn’t get to try.
