Am posting backdated photos that I downloaded from my phone this month.
Three weeks ago, K earned eight good boy stars. That entitled him to choose a reward that’s not more than $10 from a shop (not necessarily a toy shop). He suddenly said that he wanted to buy his grandma flowers. It impressed me that he was willing to spend his hard-earned money to buy a gift for someone he loved. So we went off to Daiso that afternoon for him to see if there were flowers to buy. Initially he wanted to buy five bunches of flowers, but I felt a bit sympathetic that he couldn’t get anything for himself because he did work hard earning the stars, so I told him that grandma would be happy with three bunches, and that he should go to the toy section to get something for himself.
I explained to him that when you buy a present for yourself, you’re this happy — shows him distance between thumb and second finger — but when you buy a present for someone your love, you’re this happy — shows him distance between two outstretched arms. At the end of the shopping trip, he decided to spend his $10 on three bunches of flowers for grandma, one water toy for T and one water toy for himself! The plastic handles for both the water toys have fallen off within a month of vigorous playing in the pool/bathtub, haa, but they’re still able to shoot water quite well.
