Fart kueh

We passed by Bengawan Solo today and K wanted to buy the pink/green kueh at the shop. I taught the boys that those are called “huat kueh”, but they had trouble pronouncing it in Hokkien properly. So I told them to use the Chinese term “fa gao” (发糕) instead. After many (failed) tries, it became “fart kueh” to them!

T said that it “means when you eat your mouth keeps farting and farting”!
