Review of Hilton Kuala Lumpur

We generally do not choose to stay at hotels from established chains when we travel because these hotels are usually tired and overpriced. But since KL lacked small boutique establishments, we thought we might try the Hilton KL because it has received quite a lot of good reviews on tripadvisor. Ours was a deluxe plus room. It was overpriced in my opinion but tired it is not. The furnishings were new and slick, and the bed was very comfortable. Both Kok Loon and me especially liked the fact that the floor was not carpeted.

We liked the big tub in the bathroom as well as the view it offered. Should guests wish to, they may even watch TV programs in the tub. There’s an option to  watch programs on a small screen via the bathroom mirror. Woah!

Kaizer loved the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries provided by the hotel because the tubes could be used to hold water for squirting at Kok Loon. And the shampoo’s the culprit for producing all the bubbles in their foam parties.

The pool is a very long and shallow one. It stretches the entire width of Hilton KL and Le Meredien KL, but the deepest the pool can go is only 1.2m!

Okay, even though googlemaps show them as being distinct from each other, Hilton KL and Le Meredien KL are actually two halves of the same building. Guests can easily access both hotels through the ground level and pool level.

Both hotels are sandwiched between the ever-busy KL Sentral Train Station …

… and the Lake Gardens, though I suspect that there’s no direct route by foot to the gardens because of the presence of the highways.
